Please don't laugh at me or think I'm stupid for wondering...
What do y'all do with the grease that you drained from your ground beef or whatever?
Personally, I throw it away. But, I'm asking - what do you put it in and where do you store it? The reason I'm askin is because my system was recently questioned by a guest in my home.... so I wanna see - is my way the wacko way? Your way is probably way better. Please share!

I pour or spoon the grease into a disposable receptacle...a tin can or whatever is available - usually something I emptied to prepare the meal. I let it cool and throw it away when it is hard. Probably not the "greenest" solution, but it works for me.
My way--down the garbage disposal, with it running to the grease does not sit in it. I usually run hot hot water & the disposal for about 20 seconds before running the grease down the drain.
My Mom's way--store it in an old coffee can (tin can) and then throw that out when its full. Where she stores it at, not 100% sure, but think maybe she just sits it on the stove. Or on the counter next to the stove. :)

I let it cool in a cup or something then I pour it down the drain with hot hot water running. But I hear that's not good to do if you drain that kind of fat on a frequent and regular basis, as my dad did when I was growing up.
He always kept an old coffee can with a wad of paper towels inside it and the lid on under the sink. When his grease would cool, he'd pour it in there. Eventually, when the can got full, he'd just put the whole thing in the trash.
I don't know if there is a RIGHT way to do it! LOL But if you find out, I'd love to know, too!
I dispose of it in a can, soda can or plastic bottle. I had a plumbing problem once when I put it down the drain.

Sounds like we are pretty normal :) I think the person questioning us is the one with the "issues" LOL!
We keep ours in a jar that has a lid (like an old spaghetti jar) and throw it away when it's full or nasty. Yesterday, a guest was over for lunch and saw the jar in the sink. He was asking me about it and then declared "That's really gross!" ...This was an adult -- I couldn't help but wonder if what we were doing was weird! Thanks for the comments :) I shall keep up my lidded jar process, but will remember to hide it under the sink when guests come over, as I agree that it is pretty unsightly. Hehe!
Ok- I think we may be a little more wierd than you. We put ours in a butter container, and put it in the freezer! This keeps it solid and when it gets full we throw it away. Val
