Dear Health Care Reform,
It's frustrating to hear that elected officials are voting on bills before reading them. I wouldn't want to sit through a document that's 100K pages, either, especially one that I disagree with... but these people are elected and appointed to do this as their job! Even the Cliff's Notes on this bill would be too long to read. That, right there, is your first clue as to how they should vote. Maybe we should make a new law that says new laws must be 25 pages long or less.
Furthermore, it is my contention that insurance is a product, and I don't think it's fair for anybody to tell me which products I must have and when, where, and how I can obtain such a product. It's frustrating for me to hear about all of this "reform"!
Not much love,
Maggie
Dear Health Club Shooter,
I read through your "blog" and find you to be pathetic. You blamed everybody around you for problems you created. I was especially sad to read your take on salvation and death. I thank God almost everyday that I am not the judge - so thankful to not be charged with the responsibility of deciding who goes where... Having said that, I'm happy for you that you are out of your misery. Too bad you are not here to see how many MILLIONS, BILLIONS of lives you have affected because of your selfish actions. May you Rest in Peace despite the fear, grief, sadness, and injustice you caused here on earth.
Maggie
Dear Cash for Clunkers,
What a silly thing. The government, who is in debt by trillions of dollars (and who, by the way, is asking it's citizens to get out of debt and start spending responsibly), is giving away $4,500 for "Clunker" vehicles. Okay, wait - actually they're not giving it away... No, the gov't is enticing it's citizens with $4,500 towards the purchase of... *drumroll* a brand new car!!! So, you want me to give you my paid-off clunker in exchange for a new car that I can't afford? And this is stimulating the economy? Oh, and what happens to the clunker then? It gets scrapped. Crushed and sold for it's metal worth! So, my neighbor Joe traded in his Mercedes SUV for a new hybrid, and he gets the government's blessing on his purchase (despite the fact that his home is being foreclosed on since his "net worth" can only be calculated in ficticious numbers - i.e. the amount of credit he has). Furthermore, the single mom down the block who is holding two jobs (just so she can have money to eat after she pays me for childcare) knows she won't be the lucky recipieint of one of those charity cars that people give away at Christmas - because the charity didn't get cars donated this year. Seriously - did we think this through?
Annoyed,
Maggie
Dear local city government,
The city of Gardner is getting the intermodal. Now it's not. Wait, yes it is! Oh, no it's not. Hey, let's vote to see how the citizens feel. Yay, everybody's in favor. We'll get the intermodal. OOh, look - an election! Now the Mayor is in favor of having the intermodal here but the city council is not. And whats this? The council is more powerful than the mayor? What a mess!! I'm disappointed with the lack of professionalism in the city government meetings lately. Still proud to be a Gardner resident, though! :)
Maggie
Dear self,
Remember to ignore political news for a while. You're getting all worked up about stupid stuff.
Much love!

I think we're on the same level of thoughts when it comes to the Politics of our great nation. What more can they throw to us middle class working Americans?!
I agree whole-heartedly with you Maggie. I would do anything to have a paid-off car. The last thing I would do is trade it in to be "scammed" by the government.
Just sold the house.... Moving away until this whole intermodal thing is all sorted out and the highways have been built and the police department has a functioning vice squad.... Thanks Gardner - Edgerton for the small town atmosphere. It was fun while it lasted. No more I-35 insanity for me, I'm moving to the city for the next ten years until my kids are grown up.
