Last night, we stayed home (we rarely stay home on a Friday night!) so that we could do some serious cleaning and purging. It was really quiet fun. We got the kids involved and husby and I worked together on cleaning out the coat closet, the clutter counter, my desk and the kitchen area... Julia even did the dirty dishes! Fun was had by all.
Last night at around 2am I woke up to tinkle and found myself wide awake for an hour and a half. I couldn't stop thinking! I had mostly happy thoughts about our family, our marriage, our home... and a few not so happy thoughts about illness, and my "distant" family, and the poor. Whenever I get overwhelmed with thoughts so early in the morning, I always remember to pray. And praying helps calm my spirit and always allows me to fall back into a peaceful sleep again.
And now, it's Saturday! I love today. We have nothing planned for the day, nothing what so ever... And a Saturday without plans? Well, that hasn't happened in a very long time.
My day started out with Julia climbing into bed with us. We have an agreement with her - if the sun is awake and Julia wakes before mom and dad do, then she's welcome to come snuggle with us in our bed until we are ready to get up. And snuggle we did!
We all eventually rose to a vertical position as little Rebecca started talking from her crib. After a few tickle wars and long back stretching, we all met in the kitchen for a breakfast of cereal and/or cheesy bagels. Mmmm... cheesy bagels are my favorite!
And then, we took the kids outside to play in the snow!
Husby and the kids are enjoying hot chocolate at the kitchen table while I finish up this post.It has been a perfect Saturday, indeed.
