Our FPU class with the church is going very well! I feel like everybody who is in the class is contributing to the small group discussions. It's amazing the kind of camaraderie that forms when you're among a group of peers and you're all vulnerable because the subject is money, debt, budgets, finances and investments. I really feel like we are getting to know each other and forming a great connection. That's what I hoped would happen - that's why husby and I decided to lead the class together. There's nothing that grounds me in my faith quite like a small group.
When we first took our very first FPU class back in January, we were deep in the hole. And now? We can see the top. Once we sell our stupid van (I mean, it's a really GREAT van! It really is!! Wanna buy it?) we'll just have two debts left to pay off: My student loan and our house.
It's so rewarding and exciting to see progress. It's even more rewarding and exciting to see peers making progress because of the class. It's a topic that I could always talk about. Talking about becoming debt free gets my adrenaline pumping. It automatically makes me wonder what I can sell - how I save - where our budget needs work.
I'm so PUMPED! I can't wait to live debt free. To know that our income is for US!
