Cute exchange of words

Tonight, just after dinner, Julia was heard (incorrectly) singing:

"the e says 'pah' the e says 'pah' every letter makes a sound, the e says 'pah.'"

So, husby and I sing-songedly corrected her,  

"the e says 'eh' the e says 'eh' every letter makes a sound, the e says 'eh'"

And then I chimed in, "Like elephant!  eh, elephant!"

And then she added, "like giraffe!"

Puzzled, husby and I giggled and said "Giraffe??"  We subtly corrected her saying that giraffe starts with a G.

Then, husby started singing, "The g says 'guh' the g says 'guh' every letter makes a sound, the g says 'guh'" 

Puzzled, I asked hubby... "guh, as in giraffe?"   

It was really cute :)  He of course knows that G makes two sounds - but it was really funny to hear him correcting Julia over one letter then confusing her with a different sound to another letter!  Oh, drats - I guess ya had to been there.  

Anyway, it was cute. Take my word for it!
