classes we took. It's been barely over a year since I first heard of
Dave Ramsey, and we've already paid off all of our debt except for my
school loan and our house. Unfortunately, those are two biggies - so
while we keep on keepin' on, progress feels very slow. Throwing a
thousand bucks a month at something doesn't make as big a dent when the
something has a balance in the teen-thousands or more. But, we're
trucking through and will likely be completely debt free (even the
house!!) by the time both girls are in Kindergarten. How cool is that!
I already told you about the van. The fact that it was totaled was a blessing towards our financial goals.
And when things happen - like the furnace breaking - murphy hasn't
showed up with his cousins broke desperate and stupid, as Dave likes to
say. We just put what normally would be our van payment aside and saved
up for our "Dave car" ...something cheap and reliable that will sustain
us until we are debt free.
Well, yesterday we finally purchased our "Dave car" ... it's just an old
Honda Civic. But the nicest thing about it (is not the CD stereo!) is
that it was paid for, in full, with cash. And we're not broke because of
it! We're close... but not broke - haha!
I love FPU and highly recommend that everybody take it if you have the
desire to live debt free.

That is so awesome.
We are so close to being debt free (minus the student loans and the mortgage) I can hardly wait to spend a little money on things we want!
